How placements are calculated

Your time is compared with every finisher in the division you pick, and again with the finishers in your age group. Rank is one plus the number of athletes who finished faster. For the 25 fastest finishers in a field the rank is exact. For everyone else it is read from the field's time distribution, sampled every 2.5% of the field and interpolated, which is accurate to about 1% of the field.

Data: 365,068 finishers across 186 races in the Open Men, Open Women, Pro Men and Pro Women divisions, from public results. Times under 45 minutes or over 4 hours, test entries and duplicate rows are removed, so counts can differ from the official lists. Age groups are used when they have at least 10 finishers. Doubles are not included. Championship fields appear in the race list and are marked, because their rankings are not comparable with standard races. FAQ

Placement calculator FAQ

How do I find my HYROX results?

Your official result is on the HYROX results site for the event. We also list every finisher on the race results pages. Once you have your finish time, pick the race in the calculator and enter it to see your overall and age group rank.

How many people race HYROX in an age group?

It varies by race and division. At New York City 2026, the Open Men 30–34 group had 1,110 finishers, and the largest age groups hold over a thousand. Groups above 60 usually have under 100. The calculator shows the group size next to each age group.

Why did my rank change between races with the same time?

Fields differ in size and strength. The same time can be top 30% at one race and top 50% at another, because the fastest races draw faster athletes. The table above shows one time across several venues, and the speed index ranks races by pace.

How accurate is the placement?

Ranks inside the top 25 of a field are exact. Beyond that the rank is read from the race's time distribution at 2.5% steps, which is accurate to about 1% of the field. Results with impossible times or duplicate entries are removed first, so ranks can differ slightly from the official list.
