Events By Region

North America has the most concentrated schedule of any single region, with 9 US events (New York City, Washington DC, Salt Lake City, Boston, Tampa, Denver, Dallas, Anaheim, Nashville) plus 3 Canadian (Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver) and 4 Mexican (Monterrey, Puebla, Acapulco, Mexico City). Europe remains the sport's heartland with Germany leading at 6 events (Cologne, Berlin, Karlsruhe, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt), followed by the Netherlands (4), Spain (4), France (4), Poland (3), UK (3), Italy (3), and singles in Portugal, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Latvia, Belgium, and Ireland. Asia has 10+ events: 6 in China (Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Beijing, Guangzhou), 2 in South Korea (Incheon, Seoul), 2 in India (New Delhi, Mumbai), 1 in Japan (Chiba), 1 in Indonesia (Jakarta), 1 in Hong Kong. Australasia: Brisbane and Sydney. South America: São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro. Africa: Johannesburg and Cape Town. For the first time, athletes in Asia have enough local events to build a full competitive season without international travel.

New Cities 2026

First-time Hyrox host cities in 2026 include: Incheon (South Korea), Shanghai and Hangzhou and Chengdu and Shenzhen (China expansion beyond existing cities), Istanbul (Turkey), Chiba (Japan), Cape Town (South Africa — second ZA city alongside Johannesburg), Washington DC (first US capital-region event), Salt Lake City, Tampa, Denver, Dallas, Anaheim, Nashville (all new US cities), Buenos Aires (Argentina's first Hyrox), Rio de Janeiro (second Brazilian city), Tenerife (Canary Islands), Acapulco, Valencia, Gdańsk, Geneva, Nice, Gent, and Dublin. The net effect is that virtually every major fitness market in the world now has at least one domestic event, reducing the cross-continental travel previously required from athletes in South America, Southeast Asia, and parts of Eastern Europe.

How To Register

Registration for all 2026 events is handled through hyrox.com/find-my-race/. Select your event from the calendar, then click through to the event-specific registration page. The process has five steps: select division (Open, Pro, Doubles, or Relay), choose a wave time, enter personal details, select any add-ons (spectator tickets, event insurance where offered), and pay. You can register for multiple events in separate transactions — there is no season-pass equivalent. Confirmation comes by email within minutes. Your bib number is allocated at registration and recorded in the system; the physical bib is collected at the venue check-in desk. Early bird pricing is typically live for the first 2–4 weeks after registration opens for each event, saving 10–20% versus standard rate. For events marked 'Coming Soon', you can usually register your email for an alert on the event page — this is the fastest way to know the moment registration opens. For 'Not Yet Announced' events, monitor hyrox.com and the @hyrox Instagram for registration launch announcements, typically made 2–4 weeks before the registration opening date.

Travel And Visa Notes

For athletes planning international travel to 2026 events, entry requirements vary significantly. Schengen Area events (Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland) allow visa-free movement for EU/EEA citizens and most Western passport holders for stays under 90 days. The EU Entry/Exit System (EES) — a digital border registration system — is expected to be operational by late 2026, so UK and non-EU citizens entering Schengen should check gov.uk or their country's travel advisory for the latest requirements before booking. For Asia events: India (New Delhi, Mumbai) requires an e-Visa for most Western passport holders — apply via the official Indian e-Visa portal at least 5 business days before travel. Indonesia (Jakarta) offers visa-on-arrival for most nationalities at Soekarno-Hatta airport. Japan (Chiba, near Tokyo Narita) is currently visa-free for over 60 nationalities for stays under 90 days. South Korea (Incheon) is visa-free for most Western and many Asian passports for under 90 days. China (Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Beijing, Guangzhou) has expanded its 15-day visa-free transit policy to include 54 countries as of 2024-25 — check the latest list via the Chinese embassy or your country's foreign affairs ministry. South Africa (Johannesburg, Cape Town) requires most EU and US citizens to have a valid return ticket but no advance visa for tourism stays under 90 days. Turkey (Istanbul) offers e-Visa at evisa.gov.tr for most nationalities. For all international events, book flights and accommodation at least 6–8 weeks in advance for April–June events, when European event density pushes up accommodation prices.

Qualifier Pathways

No qualifier is required to enter any standard 2026 Hyrox event. You register, you race. However, if your goal is to compete at the Hyrox World Championship, you need to post a qualifying time at a regular-season event within the same season. Championship qualification works on a time cutoff system: finish a regular-season race in your division within the qualifying time standard and you automatically earn a place at the Championship. The cutoff times are announced by Hyrox once the season is underway, based on the competitive depth that year. As a rough benchmark from recent seasons: Pro Men need approximately sub-65 minutes, Pro Women sub-75 minutes. Open division Championship qualification is awarded to top finishers by percentage within each age category, with specific cutoffs varying by how many athletes race. To maximise qualification chances: race early in the season (April–June gives you the most options for a second attempt if needed), race at a large event with a deep competitive field (Berlin, New York, London all produce fast times on good floors), and race in your strongest division. Athletes targeting the Championship who also compete internationally should confirm that their result from a non-domestic event counts toward the Championship season — Hyrox applies world rankings globally, so any event worldwide in the current season is eligible.

Sold Out And Status

As of May 2026, 20 events have already taken place (Brisbane through Lyon). Of the 52 remaining events, 1 is already Sold Out — Mumbai (18–20 September at NESCO Centre, Goregaon East). Mumbai selling out reflects extreme demand for Hyrox in India relative to venue capacity. Events with 'On Sale' status have open registration now; 'Coming Soon' means registration has not yet opened; 'Not Yet Announced' means dates are confirmed but registration details are pending; 'Past' events have already raced. London, New York, and Berlin are expected to sell out within weeks of registration opening — register early for these. The safest strategy is to register the day registration opens. Not Yet Announced events typically go On Sale 3–5 months before race date. Sold Out events occasionally release additional wave spots if venue capacity is expanded; follow the specific event's social media for updates.

Key Events For First Timers

Choosing a first Hyrox event involves balancing date, logistics, and atmosphere. For North American first-timers, Ottawa (14–17 May at Shaw Centre) is a compact, well-organized event in a manageable city with low travel costs from eastern Canada and the US northeast. Washington DC (3–7 September at Walter E. Washington Convention Center) is accessible from the east coast and is a new-city event in 2026, which tends to have excellent first-year organization. For European first-timers, Heerenveen (14–17 May at Abe Lenstra Stadion) in the Netherlands is a mid-sized event with good venue access and a strong local athletic culture. Helsinki (9–10 May at Messukeskus) is a compact two-day event with exceptional venue logistics. Lisbon (1–3 May) is a good Southern Europe option. For Asia-Pacific, Hong Kong (8–10 May at AsiaWorld-Expo) has world-class venue infrastructure and short travel from major regional hubs. Sydney (1–5 July at ICC Sydney) is the flagship Australian event with excellent organisation. Avoid choosing your first race at the flagship mega-events (Berlin, London, New York) if you are concerned about crowds, station queues, and logistical complexity — those are better as second or third races when you know your pacing and station strategy.
